His passing was confirmed in a heartfelt family statement released by Greater Manchester Police.
Gardiner, who captured hearts alongside his mother Jo during the popular BBC series, was described as a devoted son, brother, and friend.

“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Sam in a terrible accident. He left us far too soon… Sam brought light, joy, and energy into our lives,” said Jo and Andrew Gardiner.

According to Greater Manchester Police, the crash occurred Monday night on the A34 in Gatley, near Cheadle. The vehicle reportedly left the carriageway and rolled before landing on its side.
