LOS ANGELES — TikTok sensation Khaby Lame, the platform’s most-followed creator, has reportedly fled the United States after being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorities over the weekend.

This development comes as part of President Donald Trump’s intensified immigration enforcement campaign targeting foreign nationals, including high-profile figures.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that Khaby Lame, 25, was detained at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying the terms of his visa, Forbs reported.
According to officials, Lame accepted a voluntary departure agreement to avoid a formal deportation order. His exact destination remains unclear, though a recent Instagram post suggested he may be in São Paulo, Brazil.
Lame, born in Senegal and raised in Italy, holds Italian citizenship.He rose to global fame for his viral TikTok videos silently mocking over-complicated “life hacks,” amassing over 162 million TikTok followers.
His unique style made him a relatable icon across digital audiences worldwide.
The decision for Khaby Lame to leave the U.S. comes just weeks after his appearance at the 2025 Met Gala in New York.
His swift departure underscores growing concerns about the implications of ICE’s renewed policies on groups  identified as illegal immigrants residing in the United States.
