Zenith Bank: First female GMD of Nigeria's multibillion dollars bank set to step into office role
Ms Adaora Umeoji, on Monday, arrived the Zenith Bank PLC headquarters in Lagos to commence her official duties as the firm’s newly appointed Group Managing Director.
The multibillion dollars Nigerian bank, Zenith Bank PLC, currently standing at a networth of $24 billion, disclosed this in a video it posted on its Facebook page.
Having served as the company’s deputy GMD, Umeoji would take over the office from her predecessor, the former Zenith Bank GMD — Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu.
Onyeagwu’s office regime expired on May 31, 2024, making the position vacant for Ms Umeoji’s installation as the first female Group Managing Director of the banking institution before her appointment.
The caption, as was set forth, said, “Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji OON, Group Managing Director / CEO, Zenith Bank Plc, arrives Zenith Bank Head Office in Lagos.”
In an earlier report of her appointment this year, the bank’s secretary, Michael Otu, informed that ms Umeoji’s commencement of office responsibilities was set for June 1.
