WASHINGTON, DC – July 4, 2025 | Epicstorian News – President Donald Trump signed his flagship domestic legislation, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, into law on Friday, turning the White House Independence Day celebration into a political showcase.

The signing, held on the South Lawn, featured a military flyover and culminated in fireworks above the National Mall.

Trump Agenda Bill Signed on Independence Day with Full Ceremony

The Trump agenda bill — a $4.5 trillion package combining tax cuts, immigration funding, and defense spending — passed the House with near-unanimous Republican support.

The president had set a July 4 deadline for its passage, and celebrated its success as both a legislative and symbolic victory.

Standing beside First Lady Melania Trump, the president called the moment a “triumph of democracy on the birthday of democracy,” and declared the bill “the most popular ever signed,” despite polling data showing a divided public.

One Big Beautiful Bill Extends Trump Tax Cuts, Cuts Medicaid

The legislation builds on the 2017 tax reforms by extending existing cuts and introducing new reliefs, such as the elimination of taxes on service tips.

However, it also includes $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid funding and reduces food assistance programs.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, the bill is projected to increase the federal deficit by $3.3 trillion, excluding interest payments on the debt.

Critics argue the legislation disproportionately benefits the wealthy while stripping critical support from low-income Americans. Trump dismissed the backlash as a “con job,” vowing that Americans will soon see the bill’s benefits.

Flyover and Fireworks Highlight Trump’s Recent Winning Streak

The event featured a B-2 bomber escorted by F-35 jets — the same aircraft used in recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities — soaring over the capital.

The dramatic display capped off a stretch of victories for Trump, including a Supreme Court ruling expanding his executive authority and renewed momentum in ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.

“Has anybody ever had a better two weeks?” Trump said, listing NATO’s increased defense pledges and cabinet efforts in securing congressional support for the bill.

Bill Reflects Trump’s Pledge to Codify Campaign Promises

Trump described the legislation as the realization of his campaign platform, framing it as a pledge fulfilled. “Promises made, promises kept,” he said, a line frequently repeated throughout the event.

He credited the legislation’s passage to relentless outreach and pressure on lawmakers, and praised Vice President JD Vance for quietly rallying Senate support.

Republicans Cautious as Public Opinion Remains Divided

Though hailed by the administration as a legacy-defining win, the bill’s political implications are uncertain.

Republicans worry that the steep social program cuts could become fodder for opponents ahead of the midterm elections. Analysts suggest the administration will need to work hard to communicate the benefits of the bill to voters nationwide.

House Speaker Mike Johnson presented Trump with the gavel used to finalize the House vote, a symbolic moment capping off the ceremony. “We just have to look forward,” Trump told lawmakers in attendance, signaling a pivot from legislative battle to public persuasion.
