President Biden may see reasons enough to relist Yemen’s IRAN-BACKED Houthis as another terrorist group in the middle east as part of his US. direct responses to the the continued attacks on shipping vessels in the Red Sea.

This is coming three years after delisting Yemen from being a member of the Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

A member of the US Government officials said the persistent military assaults on shipping vessels would be considered a “violation of international law and a major threat to life” and an inhibitor to free movement of goods delivery.

“These attacks are a clear example of terrorism and a violation of international law and a major threat to life, global commerce, and they jeopardize the delivery of humanitarian assistance,” said a senior administration official on Tuesday, it.

Meanwhile, president Biden’s decision comes as dozens of Commercial ships have been attacked by the Houthis in the red sea for which they also have taken responsibility, claiming that it is in response to Israeli military actions in Gaza strip.

One of the lastest attacks by the group was on Tuesday, where anti-ship ballistic missiles were launched into the Red Sea by the Houthis fighters from Yemen.

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION TO DOUBLE SANCTIONS TO PREVENT YEMEN’S IRAN-BACKED HOUTHIS OPERATIONS IN THE RED SEA AS IT ALSO MOVES TO RELIST THEM AS DESIGNATED TERRORISTS.

“We’ve taken this action to pressure the Houthis to cease their terrorist activities, including missile and drone attacks against international shipping. The ultimate goal of sanctions is to convince the Houthis to de-escalate and bring about a positive change in behavior,” the official also said.

The designation decision by the Joe Biden’s administration is set to take effect in 30 days.

The government officials noted that medicine, fuel and and food deliveries by the sea will remain inhibited as to ensure that Yemi people are not denied humanitarian aid due to the ongoing internal crisis in Yemen

“The administration is prioritizing the mitigation of unintended adverse impacts from this designation that may otherwise arise for the people of Yemen,” another official said.

US.Secretary of State, Antony Blinken delisted the Houthis as both a foreign terrorist organization and as specially designated global terrorists in February 2021 as the Biden administration sought to make it easier to get humanitarian aid into Yemen, said Fox News.

According to a report, US has launched airstrike this week following the Houthis activities in the Red Sea.

Recall that the former president Donald Trump had placed Houthis on the Foreign Terrorist Organizations list (FTO) before the end of his first term in office, which was a move to barr Americans and people and organizations subject to U.S. jurisdiction from giving “humanitarian support” to the Houthis.

However, many argued this that it would result in harsh conditions and greater humanitarian desaster for the victims of the civil war in Yemen.

“It was the correct step in 2021 to revoke the foreign terrorist organization and SDGT designations for the Houthis,” said an administration official.

He also stated that Blinken had made the decision “in recognition of a very dire humanitarian situation in Yemen.”
