(EPICSTORIAN) — A Scottish couple from Skye, Scotland, is defying social criticism, standing firm in their love, and embracing their journey as they build a future together.

David, a former scaffolder, and Ayla, a transgender glamour model, met on Instagram in 2022. Their relationship quickly deepened, leading them to move in together just six months after they started talking online.

David, who was aware of Ayla’s transgender identity before reaching out to her, insists that it never influenced how he saw her. “I only ever saw her as a woman, and that’s that,” he said in an interview with Truly Love Don’t Judge. “I’m attracted to women, and she is a woman. I’m a straight guy.”

Ayla, who describes herself as a “trans Barbie,” has openly shared her journey. She began transitioning socially at 24 and surgically at 26, explaining that it was a life-or-death decision for her. “I was performing in drag when a stranger told me I’d be happier if I transitioned,” she recalled. “The next day, I never took the drag off.”

Scottish couple Remain Deeply in Love Despite Public Backlash

While Ayla sometimes worries that David may struggle with public scrutiny, he remains steadfast in his commitment.

“She used to create content alone, but now we do it together. It gives us more flexibility and more time as a couple,” he said, referring to their work on her OnlyFans account.

Ayla recently underwent breast augmentation surgery to achieve a 32JJ bust, pausing her content creation briefly. “I’ve always been drawn to the plastic look,” she explained. “As a kid, I wanted to be a life-sized Barbie.”

Their relationship has drawn criticism, both online and from Ayla’s family, who questioned David’s intentions. “My family wasn’t supportive,” Ayla admitted.

“They suspected he was using me to get into my industry.” However, David says he has only received positive reactions from his own family.

Their story reflects a broader conversation about relationships involving transgender individuals.

Jesse Schwenker, a Florida plumber, faced similar backlash when he began dating Cassidy Cauley, a transgender woman. He initially held traditional views on relationships but reconsidered after meeting Cassidy. “Love has no boundaries,” he said. “People tell us our relationship is wrong, but their words don’t affect us.”

For Ayla and David, the goal is simple—to live their lives authentically and prove that love transcends societal norms. “I’m still the same person inside,” Ayla said. “I can be as fake on the outside as I want, but I’m real where it matters.”
