UK, EPICSTORIAN – A Large number of counter-protesters turnout from various cities in the UK alongside the presence of the Met police has abated the rage of at least 100 far-right protesters who planned to march across the country last night.

Metropolitan Police chief, Sir Mark Rowley, has said the ‘fears of far-right mayhem’ were defeated after ‘show of police force and unity from communities’

The police chief expressed “confidence” the chaos is on its way to end, given the community supports and the overnight operation of Met officers.

“We put thousands of officers on the street and I think the show of force from the police and frankly the show of unity from communities, together defeated the challenges that we’ve seen,” Sir Mark said.

100 extreme-right marches were planned to commence across the country, including in London.

As the night progressed, far-right protests did not happen as first thought and instead counter-protesters turned out in UK cities – including Birmingham, Liverpool and Brighton, reported Skynews.

However, a new report says a “small number ” of far-right protesters in places such as Portsmouth, Brighton and Blackpool was seen.
