Dallas, April 19 (Epicstorian News) – A young man in Dallas, nortnorth of Texas, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Corinna Johnson, of whose body was found hidden in his closet.
The 27-year-old woman, who the police said was found inside his boyfriend Omar Lucio’s closet, was murdered in cold blood on April 14.
The victim’s family said that they told her multiple times to leave the man who was accused of murdering her, reported Fox 4 in Dallas.
Omar Lucio, 34, was arrested on Monday on Monday for the murder of Corinna Johnson after refusing the police entrance into his apartment.
A source said the Garland Police called DPD and told them someone had called 911 and told them that a woman who had been beaten to death was inside an apartment on W. Wheatland Road.
When an emergency response team arrived, according to an arrest warrant affidavit, officers entered the apartment and found a trace of blood which led them from the front door to the bathroom and then to a closet in bedroom.
In an interrogation by the police, Lucio admitted that he “did hit her” but had only done that with bare hands.
His arrest affidavit, on the contrary, said that Lucio was visibly wounded in hands and there was some blood stains on his left shoe and under his fingernails.
But he did not explain how Johnson ended up wrapped in the bedding and in the closet, according to police.
Corinna Johnson, according to her family, had a 7-year-old child and was a loving mother.
Her sister Erica Hernandez, including other members of her family, said she was “a ray of sunshine” and always happy for everyone and did not deserve the terrible death.
“My sister was just the most bubbly person ever,” said Erica Hernandez. “She was full of joy. She was a ray of sunshine.”
“She always had a smile on her face. She had the kindest heart that anybody would ever love,” said Kathy Gareau, the victim’s aunt. “She didn’t deserve what she got. Not at all.”
Her family was “seriously concerned about her relationship” with Lucio, but she never saw it turning out this way.
“Every time we’d see her come in with black eyes or bruises, her mother, we would always warn her, ‘You don’t need to be back with him. He’s going to hurt you. He’s going to kill you,’” Gareau told her, and this was always one thing they were worried might happen to Corinna Johnson.
“If you’re in an abusive relationship, get out now,” Hernandez warned. “It’s never going to end.”
“She’s a beautiful person. She really was,” Gareau said. “She didn’t deserve that.”
