Manchester airport has cancelled departure time of all passengers waiting to travel from Terminals 1 or 2 as result of power outage in the area.

The airport advised passengers to get in touch with their airlines for more updates on the situation.

Due to the power cut, all flights departing from Manchester Airport  faced cancellations and delays.

This was caused by an issue with the power supply in the local area, which affected the airport and several other buildings within the vicinity.

However, latest development after the upsetting experience said the “Power has been restored”.

Briefing the passengers on the situation, the airport said it was “working to get those passengers already at the airport on to flights as soon as possible”.

It said there may be no baggages on the aeroplanes: “disruption caused by the outage means in some instances baggage may not be on those flights,” the statement highlighted.

“We will work with airlines to make sure passengers are reunited with any baggage that is not on their flight as soon as possible,” it added.

Airlines will organise any onward journey for those whose flights are cancelled.

The airport said it’s working to restore services, but gave no timeline.

“Manchester Airport was affected by a major power cut in the area earlier this morning,” it said.

“This has caused widespread disruption and flights from Terminals 1 and 2 are being cancelled.Airlines will be in contact with passengers,” it added.
