EPICSTORIAN — Kanye West ignited a new wave of online controversy after an unfiltered livestream, where he appeared to make a startling personal declaration while venting over custody struggles with ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
The brief two-minute video drew massive attention as West, wearing an all-black outfit and a face-covering mask, ended his monologue by exclaiming, “I’m gay… I’m in charge of my legacy and I’m gay.”
West Rants About Custody and Legacy
The 47-year-old artist began the livestream with an angry tirade about restricted access to his four children—North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5. In a raw outburst, Kanye said, “I ain’t got no motherf****** legacy… why the f*** you think I am s****ing out?”
The statement has sparked confusion online, with some users questioning whether Kanye said “I’m gay” or a slurred variation of “I’m Ye.”
Kanye Posts Disturbing Lyrics, Sparks Backlash
Days earlier, Kanye posted disturbing lyrics from an upcoming track titled COUSINS, referencing a childhood incident involving a male relative. “My name is Ye and I sucked my cousin’s d*** till I was 14,” he wrote, drawing sharp reactions across platforms.
Soon after that post, he shared a rainbow emoji calling it his “new logo,” only to later write, “I’m not actually gay,” further fueling debates around whether his comments reflect personal revelations or performative behavior.
West Calls Out Kim, Praises Akademiks
During the livestream, Kanye appeared visibly agitated as he spoke about his children. “I’mma go get these kids, bro. I’m talking to the lawyers… it gets to the point where I don’t lose my f***in’ mind,” he said. He also credited hip-hop commentator DJ Akademiks with inspiring him: “Akademiks put that battery in my back.”
He has used X (formerly Twitter) frequently in recent months to express grievances. He criticized Kardashian’s past association with Paris Hilton, saying, “Kim was Paris Hilton’s assistant. I should’ve had babies with Paris Hilton over Kim Kardashian!” He added, “Could you imagine if I had kids with Paris Hilton? How many hotels I would have right now?”
Kanye’s Divorce Fallout and Antisemitic Controversies
Although the divorce was finalized in 2022 with a joint custody agreement, Kanye has alleged limited access to their children. Images of Kanye spending time with Saint and the younger children earlier this year have circulated, challenging those claims.
Reports following the livestream indicate Kardashian has increased security around herself and the children. Sources cited by The Daily Mail say she has also scaled back family social media exposure in response to the incident.
Kanye Banned After Inflammatory Content
Beyond the custody row, Kanye remains at the center of other controversies. Earlier this year, his Yeezy store was removed by Shopify after he listed a T-shirt featuring a swastika. “Next year I’m performing at the Super Bowl wearing my wittle T-shirt,” he wrote, announcing he wouldn’t return to the platform.
The Anti-Defamation League condemned the merchandise, calling it antisemitic. “Kanye was tweeting vile antisemitism nonstop,” the group said in a statement.
Streaming platform Twitch banned Kanye shortly after he launched a live broadcast containing inflammatory remarks. The suspension reportedly took effect within ten minutes of him going live.

Many viewers said Kanye’s behavior stemmed from artistic expression or personal crisis. However, the issues remain clear about his ex-wife Kardashian who has reportedly enforced tighter control over her their children’s privacy and security.
