Netanyahu claims Hezbollah weakened, urges Lebanon to seize opportunity for peace and reclaim sovereignty.
Jerusalem, (EPICSTORIAN) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hezbollah has obviously weakened after Israel targeted the group’s top leadership in Lebanon.
Speaking to the people of Lebanon, as was seen in a footage, the Israeli Prime Minister issued a pointed message, reminding them of the country’s former status as the “Pearl of the Middle East” and lamenting its current turmoil.

“Do you remember when your country was called the Pearl of the Middle East? I do,” Netanyahu said, reflecting on Lebanon’s history of tolerance and beauty before its descent into chaos and war.
He accused Hezbollah, which is allegedly backed by Iran, of turning Lebanon into a battleground and a stockpile of weapons, serving Iran’s interests at the expense of Lebanon’s sovereignty.
Netanyahu highlighted Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon 25 years ago, asserting that the true conqueror of Lebanon was Iran, which has fueled Hezbollah’s growth and influence in the region.
“The country that actually conquered Lebanon is not Israel. It’s Iran,” he emphasized, accusing Hezbollah of transforming the nation into a forward Iranian military base.
In his address, Netanyahu criticized Hezbollah for its role in the ongoing conflict, particularly following the October 7th massacre a year ago, during which the group launched attacks on Israeli cities.
“Hezbollah has turned Lebanon into a stockpile of ammunition and weapons and a forward Iranian military base,” he stated.
“Just one day after the October 7th massacre a year ago, Hezbollah joined the war against Israel.
“It launched an unprovoked attack on our cities and on our citizens.
“It has since fired over 8,000 missiles at Israel,killing civilians with missiles.
“It’s a war without distinctions. Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Druze. Israel has decided to put an end to this.”
According to the Israeli Prime Minister, Israel has taken decisive action, targeting Hezbollah leaders and weakening the group more than it has been in years.
“We took out thousands of terrorists, including Nasrallah himself, and Nasrallah’s replacement, and the replacement of his replacement,” he said.
“Today, Hezbollah is weaker, than it’s been for many, many years. Now you, the Lebanese people, you stand at a significant crossroads.”
He noted that now is the time for the Lebanese people to reclaim their country, urging Lebanese citizens to seize the opportunity to bring peace and prosperity back to their country, and warned of the continued “dangers of Hezbollah’s actions”.
“Today I ask every mother and every father in Lebanon a simple question. Is it worth it? Because it doesn’t have to be that way.
“I know you want a better future for your children. So I’m speaking to all of you today.There is a better way, ” the Israeli Prime Minister added.
