Abuja- (EPICSTORIAN) – The Nigerian president, Bola Tinubu, has, on Monday, made a surprising remark on the jokes that most Nigerians have been singing every day about his occasional public mistakes due to the state of his health.
He said this today at the Council Chamber, presidential Villa, Abuja, during a meeting with members of the federal executive Council (FEC).
Speaking on what he has observed about the public portrayal of his character, the president said, “First of all, let me reiterate to all of you the fact that a lot of stories are going around about what is happening.
“I’ve told everyone in this country that I can make mistakes, they’re bound to air them out and correct them.
“Perfection is that of God Almighty. I have absolute confidence on the integrity of my Chief of Staff. All campaigns of calumny and insinuations should stop, the buck stops here.”
Then looking around as he addressed everyone in the meeting room, he also added, “If I make mistake I’m ready to own up to it and we’re all joining hands to fight corruption and we want to enforce the law along with you.”
Briefly after his speech, members of the council, within a minute’s silence, grieved the passing of Alhaji Adamu, who died at 90, having served as a member of the Federal Executive Council, and other top national positions.
While at the meeting, the president also expressed his dissatisfaction with seeing uninvited guests being received into the Council Chambers.
