Governor Uzodimma receives southeast Peace Builder Award.
In a grand event to celebrate southeast leadership commitments to peace building and harmony, Governor Uzodimma of the Imo State was honoured with the Southeast Peace Builder Award. Southeast Peace Builder Award.
This honour was in recognition of his determination and efforts in fostering peace, unity and harmony in the south-eastern region.
According to the Imo State New media, (ISNM), Governor Uzodimma’s “dedication to promoting peace among people of the southeast” was due for proper honour.
The reception also was graced by the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu in Bende, Abia State, the Nigerian Vice president, His excellency Kashim Shettima, who also received his own honorary certificate and peace award on the south east project. The ISNM statement read, “Governor Uzodimma’s dedication to promoting peace and unity among the people of Southeast has not only contributed to the stability of his state but has also had a positive ripple effect throughout the entire South East.
“The award was received during the grand reception of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu in Bende, Abia State where the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima also received his certificate and peace award on the Southeast project.Southeast peace builder award
“The event served as a platform to acknowledge and applaud Governor Uzodimma’s specific initiatives that have played a pivotal role in conflict resolution and community cohesion. Whether through diplomatic endeavours, community outreach, or policy implementation, the governor’s multifaceted approach has been instrumental in addressing various challenges and bridge building among diverse groups.” Southeast peace builder award
Governor Uzodimma recounted the 2021 “heightened” experience of insecurity in Imo State, which has transpired the South-eastern Governor’s joint efforts to maintain in the region.
The report read, “This accolade not only recognizes his past achievements but also serves as an encouragement for continued efforts towards maintaining peace in the region.
“In his address, the Governor disclosed that the 2021 event heightened insecurity in the Southeast region which made South-East Governors and Stakeholders resort to the pursuit of peace and restore the dignity of the region.”
Furthermore, the statement revealed Uzodimma’s commendation for the cooperative support of the Deputy speaker of the House Representatives, and his all-out efforts and “brilliant ideas” in ensuring peace in the South East.
It added that the governor remains a “beacon of peace, who motivates others to “prioritise” unity, peace and stability within the region . Southeast peace builder award

Personalities at the occasion were the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Alex Otti, the Ooni of Ife, the vice president, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, the Emir of Kano, Fmr Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and other political leaders.
