

GOP Leader Mitch McConnell endorsed Donald Trump for 2024 presidential election after Super Tuesday wins
The Senate Republican leader, Mitch McConnell has become the last top member of the Congress to support Mr Donald Trump for president.

Speaking in a brief statement, Mr McConnell said, “It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States.”
However, the Republican leader had in the past years publicly “criticised and disparaged” the former president for being “careless” about the capitol incident of January 6, 2021. Mitch McConnell
The two men had not spoken since 2020 when McConnell declared Democrat Joe Biden the winner of that year’s presidential election. But more recently, their teams had reopened talks about an endorsement, according to NewsMax.
McConnell in the statement said this was no surprise as was sure Mr Trump will have his endorsement this time.
