CREDICORP offers Nigerian civil servants loans, enhancing financial access amid growing economic challenges.

Nigerians can now access consumer credit through CREDICORP’s newly launched scheme, designed to improve financial access and ease economic challenges for civil servants.

Applicants on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) can secure loans ranging from ₦30,000 to ₦3.5 million, as part of the ongoing initiative, according to a report by the agency.

It said the purpose of the scheme is to  offer immediate financial support, fulfilling one of President Tinubu’s key campaign promises.

Civil servants interested in the service are advised to apply via Credit Direct, a subsidiary of FCMB and Nigeria’s largest lender to civil servants.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), Uzoma Nwagba noted in statement that the agency is prepared to eliminate structural barriers inhibiting qualified users from access the consumer credit.

“CREDICORP remains committed to expanding access to consumer credit, addressing structural barriers, and enhancing financial inclusion through capital, guarantees, and policy improvements,” he said.

“The organization is set to announce more participating financial institutions in the coming days and weeks.”

151 financial institutions join CREDICORP’s pilot, enabling future loan disbursements

The credit scheme agency said 151 financial institutions have completed EOI process, advancing consumer credit access for Nigerian civil servants

“In a promising development, 151 financial institutions have already completed the Expression of Interest (EOI) process,” it revealed.

“These qualified partners will be shortlisted for the pilot phase, paving the way for future disbursements. More information and insights from the EOI can be found here.”
