Medical staff from seven African countries completed a China-led Traditional Chinese Medicine training program in Shanxi Province, strengthening healthcare cooperation and practical expertise.
TAIYUAN, China — A Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinical training program for medical staff from seven African countries, including Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Cameroon, concluded this week in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province.The initiative, pioneered by China, aimed to enhance healthcare cooperation and provide African medical professionals with practical skills in TCM.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Training Enhances African Healthcare Expertise

The program offered comprehensive training covering herbal medicine, acupuncture, and moxibustion, alongside diagnostic techniques fundamental to TCM.

Participants received guidance from leading Chinese experts to ensure the methods could be integrated effectively into their home healthcare systems.

Attendees included doctors and nurses from Guinea, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and other participating African countries. The program emphasized evidence-based TCM practices tailored to address healthcare challenges faced in Africa.
