The police has released her body to her family to fly back to the UK on Tuesday.
Anna, who her grieving family described as a “beautiful soul”, died a day after she was taken to the hospital having suffered from what a medical expert said was ‘critical condition’.
The Orange County Medical Office said the family would have been contacted to make arrangements for her body to be flown back to the UK following an autopsy, DailyMail said.
The hospital’s spokesman added that Anna’s cause of death had been identified as drowning, and her family was at liberty to fly her body back to the UK “for proper interment”.
According to the information reaching us, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said an investigation into the young girl’s death was ongoing.
The teenage girl, as was gathered from the family, was a cyclist like her father mr Peter. Peter trains triathletes and had raised £900 for the Noah’s Ark children’s hospital with an Ironman ride next to her father.
The family, Mr Peter and his wife, said in a statement: “Anna was a beautiful soul who has been taken from us in a tragic accident. We are devastated by her loss, but she will never be forgotten.
“We would like to thank the emergency response teams and hospital staff in Orlando who tried so hard to save Anna’s life.
“We will not be making any further statements and ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
In a statement with the BBC on Sunday, the headteacher at Anna’s school, Radyr Comprehensive, Andrew Williams, said the British schoolgirl’s “kindness and presence touched so many lives”.
“The very thought of losing a child is an unimaginable journey and I know I speak on behalf of the whole school community when I say that our thoughts are with Anna’s family as they try to come to terms with their loss,” he said.
“Anna was a cherished member of our school family, and her absence will be profoundly felt by pupils, staff and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
‘Her spirit, kindness and presence touched so many lives.”
