Sussex, UK (EPICSTORIAN) – A luxurious West Sussex mansion, Lock House, has reportedly struggled to find a buyer after singer Adele described it as “scary” and giving her “the creeps” in a 2012 television interview.

The 10-bedroom estate, listed for £5.99 million, has received only one serious offer since 2010, which was later withdrawn. The property owner claims Adele’s remarks fueled rumors that the mansion was haunted, deterring potential buyers.

Built in 1909 and reconstructed in 1940, Lock House has a storied past. It was divided into 26 lots in 1971 before being converted into a convent. The current owner purchased the property in 2003, but despite featuring luxury amenities like pools—a tennis court, and a private cinema, the estate has struggled to sell.

Following Adele’s tenancy, Lock House has faced continued setbacks. A former tenant attempted to run a dressmaking business but instead operated a retreat.
