Trump stated that the suspect was turned in by a minister who was close to him.
“Somebody very close to him turned him in,” Trump told Fox News during the broadcast.
The president said the minister brought the suspect directly to a US Marshal.
“The person was involved with law enforcement, but was a person of faith, a minister, and brought him to a US Marshal who was fantastic,” Trump added.
According to Trump, the minister and the suspect then drove into the police headquarters.
“They drove into the police headquarters, and he’s there now,” Trump said.
The president further stated: “We have the person that we think is the person we’re looking for.”
