He said this move would mark the “beginning of a new round of maximum pressure on the Islamic Republic.”
Pahlavi also cautioned that the outcome of renewed sanctions would “impact the people of Iran as well.”
Sanctions mechanism raises pressure on Iran
The snapback mechanism allows for the reinstatement of sanctions that were lifted under the 2015 nuclear agreement with Tehran.
The agreement, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, was signed by Iran and six world powers.
Pahlavi suggested that the reactivation of sanctions would expose the Iranian leadership to unprecedented international pressure.
According to his remarks, the regime “pays no attention to the fate of Iran and Iranians.”
Reza Pahlavi accuses regime of ignoring national needs
Pahlavi alleged that Iran’s leadership has diverted national wealth toward “nuclear ambitions and proxy groups” abroad.
He described the country’s rulers as “tyrants” with no regard for the population’s well-being.
Pahlavi accused the authorities of exploiting the nation’s resources while ordinary citizens endure economic strain.
He also linked Iran’s regional policies to a growing financial burden on its population.
Opposition voices and international reactions
Pahlavi’s comments come amid rising concerns over the potential escalation of sanctions and their impact on regional stability.
The Iranian opposition has repeatedly called on world powers to maintain firm pressure on Tehran’s policies.
Observers note that renewed sanctions would reinforce measures already imposed by the United States and European nations.
Earlier reports from an Independent local media in Iran highlighted growing international debate on the reactivation of sanctions.
Focus on Iran’s nuclear and regional policies
The regime has been accused of advancing nuclear activities in violation of its international commitments.
Pahlavi said that national wealth was being “spent on foreign conflicts and ambitions.”
He stressed that the leadership’s actions “leave Iranians without proper support.”
The remarks underline continuing opposition criticism of Iran’s direction under current policies.
Iranian people face consequences
Pahlavi acknowledged that renewed sanctions would also affect ordinary citizens.
He stated that “the people of Iran will not be spared from these consequences.”
His message warned that hardship would deepen unless political change takes place within the country.
The statement reflects longstanding opposition claims about the costs of Tehran’s external strategies.
